Main events and topics of the 2023 Conference Program
- Leading experts from the agencies INFOLine, Romir, Nielsen IQ, IPSOS presented fresh analytics and an overview of trends in the food market, spoke about changes in the Russian consumer market and in the strategies of food manufacturers and suppliers.
- The forum of food business leaders was dedicated to summing up the results of the first half of the year, discussing trends and key changes in consumer behavior, as well as opportunities to adapt business to changing conditions. The main theme of the site was “New challenges and risks, working on mistakes and finding points of growth”, the discussion of which was devoted to the plenary discussion. Top managers from MAGNIT, AUCHAN, VkusVill, Azbuka Vkusa, Selgros took part in the discussion.
- The hero of the “Interview on stage” session was Vladislav Kurbatov, the general director of the largest Russian chain of grocery stores near home, Pyaterochka.
Retail Academy
- The second platform at the exhibition, Retail Academy , was devoted to the development of individual categories, where practical conferences were held on the development of categories: Fruits and vegetables, Dairy products and cheeses, Confectionery, Private labels, Branded and specialized retail, Fish and seafood .
- For the first time, three conferences were held at the Retail Academy site this year:
- Conference “Transformation of the dairy industry. Trends that determine the future” , organized with the support of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), the Moscow Government and the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow.
- Conference “Trends and growth drivers 2023-2024: fresh food and ready-made food. Ultra niches: healthy lifestyle, farming, organic. Opportunities for the manufacturer and a differentiator for the retailer."
- The conference “Russian organic products: production, sales, promotion” was organized by the Organics Foundation and the National Organic Union.
- As part of the business program of the Forum and the Retail Academy, representatives of federal and regional retail chains, marketplaces, fast food chains, large manufacturers spoke: Cofix, LADOGA, METRO, Simple, X5 (Pyaterochka, Perekrestok), Azbuka Vkusa, Auchan, Belaya Dacha, Belozoriye, Vkusville, LifeMart, Zelgros, Krasny Yar, Kroshka Potato, Lenta, Magnit, Mareven Food Central, Moe Leto, Ozone, O'KEY, Russian Milk, Slata, Stardogs, Cherkizovo, Yandex Shop and others.
- Conference “Transformation of the dairy industry. Trends that determine the future” , organized with the support of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), the Moscow Government and the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow.
WorldFood Kitchen
- More than 2,000 representatives of public catering enterprises were able not only to find new suppliers at the exhibition, but also to share their experience and ideas for the development of their projects on the new platform of the business program - WorldFood Kitchen . The general partner of the site was the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia (FRiO). Among the speakers on the WorldFood Kitchen stage were: Stanislav Pesotsky, independent chef, main adherent of the Nordic philosophy in Russia, STANFOOD teacher; Anna Kukulina, journalist, gastronomic culture researcher, editor of books on wine and haute cuisine, editor of Simple Wine News magazine; Larisa Mamedova, restaurateur, Touché Wine & Bar, Champ Bistro & champagne bar; Daria Shmarova, pastry chef at Londri (Lucky Group), teacher at Novikov School; Valeria Morozova, restaurant ambassador, Yandex Food; Vladislav Zemsky, author of the Eat Market project and others.
Culinary Marathon
- The wide geography of the WorldFood Moscow exhibition was reflected on the site of the culinary show “Culinary Marathon” . Every day, professional chefs prepared dishes from different cuisines of the world using the products of the exhibition participants. Viewers of the show had the opportunity to go on a real round-the-world gastronomic journey thanks to master classes from chefs from Brazil, China, India, Turkey, and South Africa. The general partner of the Culinary Marathon this year was the EFKO company.
Product of the Year
Solemn ceremonies were held to award two awards at once: the “Product of the Year” tasting competition and the WorldFood ORGANIC competition.
