This year, the WorldFood Moscow exhibition will host the "Novelty of the Year" competition for the second time, organized jointly with INFOLine Group. Applications for participation are already being accepted.
The goal of the "New Product of the Year" competition is to announce the most interesting and innovative food and beverage products and promote domestic goods to the shelves of retail chains and online showcases. This year, the number of nominations has grown to 15: from soft drinks and strong drinks to snacks and confectionery.
Participation in the competition helps attract the attention of buyers. The Tradeberry company, whose cocoa-glazed mango balls under the Vkusy Mira trademark won last year in the Confectionery category, noted that thanks to participation in the competition, several retail chains approached them at once, including with a request for a private label. Buyers learned about the new product from press releases and a publication about the competition. Literally at the start of sales, the mango balls received a significant boost and found themselves in the epicenter of attention.
This year, Tradeberry plans to participate in the New Product of the Year competition again. “We consider it a key one in the industry — a kind of Oscar in the world of food products,” said a company representative. According to him, winning the competition not only means recognition from the professional community, but also motivates the creation of new, more interesting and in-demand products.
The competition provides an opportunity to directly present new products to those who make decisions about the presentation of products on the shelf, because the jury includes buyers and specialized specialists in private labels from well-known retail chains: Lenta, Perekrestok, Pyaterochka, Magnit, Azbuka Vkusa, Yandex Lavka, VkusVilla, Selgros Cash & Carry, Metro.
Applications for participation are open until August 11. Packaged food and beverage products launched on the market no earlier than May 2024 and ready for sale are eligible to participate in the competition. The results of the competition will be announced and the award ceremony for the winners will take place on September 18 at the WorldFood Moscow 2025 exhibition.
