This decision gives Russian distributors, retailers and restaurateurs direct access to the largest agricultural power, whose potential is just beginning to be revealed in our market.

APEDA is not just a department, but a real "engine" of Indian agricultural exports. Established in 1986 under the Ministry of Commerce, this government body coordinates the movement of products from the Indian field to the international counter. Its headquarters in New Delhi and 18 regional offices work as a single mechanism, linking farmers, processors and logisticians to ensure the highest quality standards. For Russian companies, interaction with APEDA is a guarantee of access not to casual traders, but to proven exporters who are ready to work with the requirements of the Russian Federation.

Over the past four years, mutual trade between the countries has grown 3.5 times. And while Russia remains a net exporter, Indian food exports to Russia are already approaching the $0.85 billion mark. Indian shrimp (which occupy up to 90% in the structure of seafood imports from this country), buffalo meat, mango, basmati rice, spices and grapes are increasingly prescribed on Russian shelves.

However, the real value of partnership with India lies deeper than the usual commodity flows. Against the backdrop of a change in supply chains and the departure of a number of Western suppliers, the Indian direction is becoming strategic. Experts note that Indian products are often 10-15% cheaper than counterparts from other countries, even taking into account transport costs.

But the main thing is a wide field for joint creativity. The Russian consumer is increasingly gravitating towards healthy food and "emotional" ethnic cuisine, and here India offers an inexhaustible resource: from Ayurvedic snacks to exotic sauces and marinades.

Russian chains and restaurateurs can count on a full-fledged collaboration with APEDA. The Authority actively promotes the format of "Indian Weeks", gastronomic festivals and exclusive tastings, using the country's vibrant culture as a marketing tool.

The plans include the creation of joint ventures and the localization of flavors, when Indian raw materials will be turned into products for Russian cuisine.

For members of the WorldFood Connect community, this means a unique opportunity to build long-term connections through B2B meetings and business missions curated by APEDA.

Interaction with this regulator is key to understanding the complex logistics, certification and cultural codes of the Indian market, both for the import and export of products.
